Dear Parents, Families, and Stakeholders;
As principal of Whiteville Primary School, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another great year at WPS. We are all so excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning.
During the past few weeks, the state released guidance for the opening of schools for the 2020-2021 school year. I want to assure you that we have following provisions in place:
· Required use of facemasks;
· Limiting the number of individuals from gathering in one space;
· Require social distancing;
· Require symptom screenings and temperature checks; and
· Require an increase in school wide cleaning and disinfection.
Our staff will be meeting with every family prior to the start of the school year to learn more about our re-entry and remote learning plan as well as our students’ academic progress during the pandemic and to learn what ways we can work together. Teachers will be calling each family to set up appointments.
We desire the best for every child, and we look forward to partnering with you to help our children be their best. Success isn’t accidental. It is the result of a focused team effort, and everyone has a part to play if we are to achieve our goals and reach our potential. Students . . . expect to learn and be willing to work hard at school and remotely. Our staff will provide the quality instruction that you deserve and that your parents expect. Parents . . . work with staff and encourage your children often and have regular conversations with them about school and their work. Parental involvement shows children that school is important and that you are committed to their success. Together, we can accomplish great things!
